I see you

You!

I see you.
I see you in front of an audience and you are the centre of attraction, the centre of attention.
I see myself in the midst of the audience, proud and grateful.
Grateful that I am blessed with you, grateful that I am married to you.
In that moment, together with everyone in the crowd, I see myself applauding, proudly applauding to your recognition.
I see you being recognised for your excellence and diligence, you honour and gentility, your honesty and dignity, but above all, your achievements.

You!

I see you... #myKing.

Candles, Crucifix & Coconut water

Eli! Eli!!
Olusho yells
A lie, a lie,
He has something to tell.

Visions and Prophecies,
Candles and Perfumes,

Holy Angels and Demons
Psalms and Sermons

The spirit flowing like the Shepherd's Sutana
Gold chains and watches by Dolce & Gabbana

We are said to be so religious
Yet we fall for all lies
Even when they are so obvious
And stares us directly in the eyes

My mind cannot comprehend
What we believe in these days
Running from end to end
Just to seek an Eternal face

Bowing heads and knees before Sacred Altars
While our faith lies in Candles, Crucifix & Coconut water

When Love Speaks

Everyday comes with its own gift
This day came with a great lift
I was so elated, I did not want it to end
For the day brought with it my new found friend

Beauty and smile, she has it all
My every desire perfected to a fault
My eyes glued to chubby lips
My mind playing on sexy hips

Words piling up in my head
but I became mute instead
When my love speaks inaudible words
like rhythms on Spanish Guitar chords

I pray you hear when my heart talks
with every beat comes unfathomable passion
All I can give to you is promises
Sincere and true like blown kisses

To your innocent eyes,
my lips will utter no lies
I will hold your hand,
we will play in the sand

When it's time to dine
I will call you mine
Yours is the voice that awakens my spirit
It comes from afar, yet I can feel it

When I give you that ring
as a sign of my love and fidelity
I hope to see your heart sing
a song of utmost sincerity

And when old age makes my limbs go weak
My love for you will still loudly speak
All this I say for loves sake
I also pray I will not be the reason for your heartbreaks +kehinde adigun

When my ink bleeds

Sometimes I go blank,
other times words flow.
Like a bang from a Tank,
It comes and the world knows.

Sometimes it hurries
Other times it tarries
Sometimes in bits and pieces,
like inspiration from Ogogoro's spirit.

When my ink bleeds
Her heart gets a healing
My words turn to seeds
That germinates to become feelings

Like the predator with its prey
my words silently capture her day
It takes her when you least expected
Her feelings and emotions, totally respected

In my words, she finds real happiness.
With my words, her world regains its brightness.
With these words, I think I have a mission,
to show all how I see things in my vision

I am the eyes that peep into your heart
The one whose words with you'll never part
When turbulent times brings worry to your face
In my words, you can still find solace

And when next your heart goes-a-bleeding
Just remember my words 'I'm Pleading' +kehinde Adigun

The Dreamers Girl

Sometimes it feels like ages
Memos of love on never ending pages
Other times I feel like I have known you since forever
For you understand me like no other

Sometimes it feels like yesterday
Me stuttering and not a thing to say
That dark night in the open with unfriendly mosquitoes
Fresh in my memory like TFC's Buristos

A Birthday party of a kind
Will never go off my beautiful mind
I never doubt your love for me
Its glaring for all to see

And when work gets me so tired
With you I get Re-wired.
Sometimes I get too work-integrated
That you feel our love would be neglected

With you my plans I share
I know beyond doubts you care
Even when poems take too long to write
Image of you love has never left mi sight

The Dreamer's Girl
And when plans pop out of the mind of the Dreamer
I am glad you don't see me as a screamer.
Can you tell me how you cast this spell?
Don't bother, for you are forever the Dreamer's Girl. +kehinde adigun

Nigeria

Nigeria oh Nigeria, thou art not fair!
Not fair to the university graduate who goes out every day in the last one year, with his qualifications in a big brown envelope, hopefully, to get any type of official job.
Not fair to the young public secondary school student who has to hawk hot bean pudding and bread after school hours so his widowed mother can make a not-so-nutritious dinner for them both.
Not fair to the uneducated pregnant lady that always pray for very sunny days so she can take turns to hawk at least ten buckets of chilled soft drinks a day at a busy bus stop to save for her unborn child's well-being.
Not fair to the one handed newspaper seller who refuses to beg but will rather work for his daily bread.
Not fair to the Hausa cobbler always with a cap on his head to hide his wound, who also has to walk an unbelievable distance hitting his wooden box filled with his tools to advertise his trade, hoping someone will have a bad shoe to repair.
Not fair to the young and elderly widows who work at building sites carrying heavy materials which normally should not be carried by women, but who in order to feed their children defy every reasonable odds to engage in such strenuous jobs.
Not fair to the office worker who uses his brains basically nine to ten hours a day to think out a solution to another man's business problems to earn a living and as well save for his own dream.
Not fair to the factory worker who does the most dangerous job under harsh conditions and with minimal risk prevention but earn the least money.
Not fair to the Vulcaniser who has to sit close to the road, endangering his life, just to be seen by drivers who may have flat tires to inflate.
After being extremely tired from every day's hard work, sweat, frustration, determination, and hope, most Nigerians still come home to eat what they can afford and not what they truly desire, most Nigerians still come home to an unbearable heat, unhygienic neighbourhood, deafening noise from nearby generators and so on and so forth.

Why?

Because we live in a country where there is a constant power outage.

Because we live in a country where filling stations in the neighbourhood bribe NEPA officials to seize power at a particular time just to increase their sales.

Because we live in a country where every house must depend on borehole to get water into the house or you resort to the easily accessible well water which is mostly contaminated  90.9% of the time.

Because we live in a country with extremely selfish leaders who continue to amass wealth while the masses continue to suffer at the expense of their unquenchable greed.

Because we live in a country where our leaders steal from the country's revenue to save in their personal foreign accounts.

Because we live in a country where one person steals so much money that can feed each Nigerian good three square meal a day for a whole year.

Because we live in a country where stolen money are said to be recovered but vanish into thin air and are never to be heard of again.

Because we live in a country where our leaders could care less about the masses who under rain and sun queue to vote them into office.

Because we live in a country where our leaders neither talk, act or do in accordance to the word of GOD, because if they do, if they really do have the fear of GOD in them, there should be a "Nigerian dream". We live in a country were uncountable times, we are positively blinded by hope, to see the vicious lies our leaders continually feed us during their campaigns just to get our thumbprints beside their political party logo.
When Nigerians? When will we open our eyes to see, to know and to differentiate between a sheep and a lion in sheep's clothing? The lion will continually disguise and prey on the weak if we are not willing to go the extra mile for what we deserve and what ought to be.
In conclusion, Nigeria will be better only with GOD, the wisdom of the elders and the energy of the young. GOD help us all.

HAPPY EVER AFTER...AFTER ALL

Once upon a time, I lost touch with myself, self confidence was a problem as well. I was all alone, felt like it was just me in the whole world, I had no idea where to go or turn to. Many nights I would break down and cry so much that tears will refuse me.
I wasn't so good at praying then, but in my own little way I'd tell GOD to prepare a reason for me to smile for the rest of my life by blessing me with a GOD fearing(a man that truly fears and put GOD first will find it hard to hurt someone else), caring and loveable future partner, I will never forget many times at night I would kneel to my creator and just pray continually.
Fast forward few years later was when I realised most times, even in bad situations, GOD is smiling and preparing us for the best experience of our lives. That fateful night, I was running so fast in search of any means of transportation...running away from something and someone, I boarded an okada, told the driver to go towards express without an idea of where I was going or going to do, then I passed an area where I was sure my co-worker lived, I alighted there, paid the bike rider and as I was about to go into the compound to inquire about his flat, he was walking out and we bumped into each other at the gate(I later found out he was trying to get network on his phone...GOD at work), I explained things to him and he said i could sleep over, without even pleading with him at all(and he lived with his brother).
Few weeks later...I was sitting outside in the night, thoughts all over my head, he came to sit and talk with me and surprisingly started pouring his heart out(I later found out he was already attracted to me at work...GOD at work again 😉) while mosquitoes dealt with his legs because he was on shorts(that night was so funny and will forever be in my memory 😂). I wasn't sure what or how to respond because all I needed was his help, and time, to get back on my feet and to crown it all, I was just out of a horrid relationship, I looked at him confused and muttered "I'll think about it" I didn't  plan to think about it at all but today I'm glad I did, because really I think the best kind of relationships begin unexpectedly, that's why you don't look for love, it comes to you just at the right time and in GOD's time.
The day I accepted his proposal, he jumped so high in excitement(I later found out I was his first real relationship 😁). Since then, I knew there was hope after all, I found the light to light my way out of the dark, he taught me how to pray and be better at prayer.
I found a friend, a best friend, someone unlike any other. I found someone I could talk to for hours and never get bored, I found someone I could tell things and will not judge me but rather, correct me.
I found happiness, and this happiness came with a name... Adeyemo Oluwaseun Stephen, I don't know men like him still exists, an honourable man, an excellent example of who a man should be. He is my soulmate, my daddy, my everything(he became my daddy the moment I was handed over to him at our wedding exactly a month and 1day ago). He is a man of prayer and deep faith, he is an example of a saying that "when man takes away his carpet, GOD places his rug" he is definitely GOD's rug for me, my compensation in all ramifications.
I love my husband, I really do, I absolutely adore him. People expect me to have a bad description of him when I talk about him to them because they believe all men are the same, but I always say mine is different, mine is GOD sent, he is so good to me, he is my joy bringer, he is my heaven on earth, he is my last and my first, he is my before anyone else, he is my boo, he is my lover, he is my baby, he is my ride or die, he is my angel, he is my endless love, he is definitely an upgrade to all the man made carpets hovering around me in the past, and above all, he is #myKing. He makes marriage so joyful easy and beautiful, i could go on and on about him, but I'll stop here today.
My ever after only proves one thing is for sure,
We serve a living GOD.
We serve a GOD that listens and answers.
We serve a GOD that can break a palm kernel with an egg just to disgrace the stone.
